Support and resistance are two very common words when discussing stock trading. But how are they truly applied to investing? Well, when charting a stock, a trader looks for previous turning points (highs and lows of the stock). If a stock is falling, the trader would identify previous areas that acted as a cushion in downturns which yield a hypothetical support for the underlying security.
