Kearney powers hot-hitting Bentley to 4th straight, 3-0 over Southern New Hampshire

Junior outside hitter Alex Kearney had 18 kills, the highest by a Falcon this season, and helped her team to its best hitting percentage of the year as Bentley swept past Southern New Hampshire, 3-0, in Northeast-10 Conference women’s volleyball at the Dana Center Tuesday night.
Bentley hit .471, including a lofty .615 in the decisive third set, as the Falcons extended their winning streak to four with the 25-11, 25-16, 25-13 victory. Bentley improved to 18-10 overall and 10-2 in the NE-10 and SNHU returned home with an 8-12 record (5-7 NE-10).
Kearney finished with a .593 hitting percentage and had at least five kills in each set. She made only two errors in 27 swings, and also recorded six digs and two aces.
Junior Kristine Mickelson followed with nine kills, two blocks and a .438 success rate, and sophomore Alaura Berry the reigning NE-10 Player of the Week, posted her third straight errorless hitting game. She had six kills for a .600 percentage.
Sophomore Kelly Mee led Bentley in assists with 22, senior Tori Piskulick added 19 assists to push her total over 4,500 for her career, and junior Cassie Kraft amassed three aces and 13 digs, including the 1,500th of her career.
Stephanie Dluginski led Southern New Hampshire with seven kills and two blocks. The Penmen had the lead just twice all night, at 1-0 in the first and 2-1 in the second.
Bentley closes out the regular season this weekend with matches at Le Moyne College Friday and the College of Saint Rose on Saturday.
