Playing in the final regular season game of her career, six-footer Erica Kirwan celebrated Senior Night with a career-best 25 points to power Bentley to an 82-61 win over Southern Connecticut State in Northeast-10 Conference women’s basketball Tuesday night at the Dana Center.

Anyone who attends a Division II school knows that their sports teams will probably never be in any national spotlight. As talented and hard working as these teams may be, the national coverage of collegiate sports is always delegated to Division I powerhouses that have anywhere from two to six times as many students as Bentley has, and that have the future NBA and NFL superstars in their programs.

Undefeated Falcons are gearing up for exciting run through the NE-10 tourney

The phrase “March Madness” evokes images of one of the best sporting events known to man. March madness is not only a sporting event but it is also the beginning of spring and the end of a long a cold winter for us here in New England. The tourney itself is the reason that many people call in sick from work and many college kids cut class to sit glued to their TV screens looking for this year’s Cinderella.

If you are a freshman, you will still have your first year seminar professor to guide you, but after that, you will have to turn to academic services for advising.

Second case of meningitis reported at Bentley in single academic year

Note: Although school health officials have released information on the identity of those affected to the Bentley community, the Vanguard has chosen to omit this information out of a respect for privacy.

This past Thursday, the Vanguard learned that a freshman student had been hospitalized with bacterial meningitis.

Stolen Mail

On Thursday afternoon, a group of five Bentley students entered Campus Police to file reports about their mail being stolen. The group of students had previously realized that they had all been sent Valentine’s Day cards containing cash or checks and concluded that something sinister is afoot.

Bentley Business Bowl: winners

February 28, 2008 News

Students competed in the Bentley Business Bowl last Saturday, a day long case competition

that awards prizes for the top three teams in each grade. Teams were each given two cases to

analyze and prepare. After a period of over three hours to prep each case the teams presented

each case before a panel of judges.

It began with a “$50 Travel Pass”, earned on one of the busiest routes in the world at the time between San Francisco and Los Angeles.
