Despite Elite Eight loss, Falcon’s future looks bright

The 2006-2007 Falcons will sure be a tough act to follow. Despite the tough loss to defending champions Winona St. in the Elite Eight this was a year of unprecedented success for the Falcons. This was the first time the Falcons have ever advanced to the elite eight and on their way there they set numerous team records including longest winning streak by any New England college (32 games).

Chalk holds in Final Four

Where is George Mason? What happened to the most open tournament field in the history of the tournament? Wasn’t this supposed to be the year where no number one seed made it to the Final Four? Guess not.

The NCAA selection committee got it right this time, with two #1 seeds and two #2 seeds, this has been the must “upset-less” tournament in 14 years of the tournament.

Boys lax wins in OT

Freshman attack Kevin Gould scored the game-winning goal in overtime for the Falcons to cap an incredible comeback as the Bentley men’s lacrosse team rallied from a 7-0 deficit to capture an 8-7 win over Saint Anselm on Saturday afternoon in Northeast-10 Conference action.

Men’s Rugby looks for repeat performance at Nationals

Last year at this time the Bentley Men’s Rugby team was preparing to head down to Virginia for their shot at a national title. They went on to defeat the Citadel in the National Championship, and have hopes of a repeat performance this year. The Bentley Rugby team steamrolled through their fall schedule going undefeated and winning their second straight Northeast Championship.

In regards to last week’s article about improving the equipment in the Bowles/video preview room in the library, please note that we will be upgrading the DVD/VCRs, and new Sony headphones are on order. This issue was also raised by students in my IDCC 320 class, who do several projects each semester, one of which is on the library and its services.

We, as students, have been given a great opportunity to advance ourselves in the world by getting a college education. In 2003, the United State census determined that only 27 percent of people over 25 have a college degree, which makes all of us members of a very prestigious group of people.

4:27 p.m.: Officers responded to the Dana Center for a report of stolen backpacks stored by the Hurley of America crew in a locked closet. One bag contained a worker’s credit card; when he reported it stolen, he was told that it had already been used at a nearby gas station.

Bentley is not cheap. For our professional education, trim lawns, and fairly nice buildings, our parents or bank accounts cry around payment time. They were also not happy about the 3-6% increase in tuition, room, and board for next year. Where are you or your parents going to get that extra money?

There are a variety of different ways to find money around the school, internet, and even your hometown.
