Champagne leads Lakers Past Bentley, 4-1

Scott Champagne had a goal and an assist in the second period as Mercyhurst out paced Bentley College 4-1 at the John A. Ryan Skating Arena Saturday night in Atlantic Hockey action. The Lakers dominated the game throughout, out shooting the Falcons 44 to 17 on the evening.

Bentley to Play at FleetCenter on February 12

Atlantic Hockey announced that the FleetCenter will host a pair of league games on Saturday, February 12. The second game of the evening will feature the Bentley College Falcons taking on the University of Connecticut at 8:00 PM. The Bentley-UConn match up will be preceded by a contest between Quinnipiac and Holy Cross at 5:00.

A few weeks ago I got excited about Cavs-Lakers. This was the first basketball game I was looking forward to this season. Well, at least that was until the game started. Basketball is supposed to be the most exciting game because of the frenetic pace it is played at and the highlight-reel dunks.

The second ethical guideline advocated by the Society of Professional Journalists directs reporters to “seek out subjects of news stories to give them the opportunity to respond to allegations of wrongdoing.” In other words, journalists should tell both sides of the story.

Some of their past accomplishments include things such as installing change machines, expanding shuttle bus service, and working to improve the meal plans in the dining halls.

Campus Police Log

Last Thursday, two Campus Police officers were dispatched to Orchard South to help remove a squirrel that happened to find its way into one of the apartments. The officers were able to get the squirrel out of the apartment and into the stairwell leading outside, when the squirrel jumped upon one of the officers’ legs.

The new facility was built for many reasons including the growing lack of space for the police department.

Sometime before the ALCS last fall I wrote a column about Boston’s love affair with their Red Sox. The year 2004 might have been the best in the history of New England sports. Boston’s beloved Red Sox won the World Series! They actually won the World Series! Down three zilch to the New York Yankees, the Red Sox stormed back to win the series in seven, prompting experts to call it as the best series comeback ever in any sport.
