Women’s Lacrosse Season Opener

The Bentley College women’s lacrosse team opens the 2004 and head coach Ben Saraydarian’s third season on the bench on the road Tuesday, March 23 against Saint Anselm College.

Bentley, picked fourth in the Northeast-10 preseason coaches poll, returns 15 players from last year’s 9-5 team that advanced to the Northeast-10 Conference tournament semifinals, including leading scorers Shandra Bacher and Stephanie Droney.

Freshmen Leads Win Over Green

Freshman Greg Maloomian took a number one singles victory in straight sets to lead Bentley College to a 6-3 non-conference victory over Green Mountain College Sunday afternoon. Green Mountain entered today’s match ranked eighth in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association northeast region rankings, one spot ahead of Bentley.

Benjamin Lifts Bentley to Double Overtime Win Over #9 C.W. Post

Senior midfielder Jordan Benjamin scored 1:39 into the second overtime period to lift Bentley College to an 8-7 win over Division II number nine nationally ranked C.W. Post in men’s lacrosse action Sunday afternoon.

After neither team could score in the first overtime, Benjamin drove to the Pioneer net and was able to bounce a shot that skipped over the head of Post goalie Ethan Harris, giving the Falcons their first ever win over C.

Falcon of the Week Senior Jordan Benjamin was named the Falcon of the Week at Bentley College following his outstanding performance in the men’s lacrosse team’s 8-7 double overtime win over C.W. Post Sunday afternoon. Benjamin, also named co-Northeast-10 Player of the Week, netted a pair of goals, including the game-winner 1:39 into the second overtime session, and added an assist as the Falcons opened the season 2-0 for the first time since 2001.

Approximately one year ago the U.S. Army’s Third Infantry Division executed perhaps the most rapid and aggressive armored advance in history. The war plan for the invasion of Iraq called for the tank-heavy division to be the main attack. It would leave the relative safety of Kuwait, move into Iraq west of the Euphrates River from the south, bypass the southern cities, and sprint toward the capital city of Baghdad.

Need for Local Shuttle Hard to Justify

Recently, the school administration announced that they are strongly leaning toward abandoning local shuttle service both to downtown Waltham and off-campus housing areas. The reason for this is two-fold, stemming from the decline in use of the shuttle, as well as the termination of Windsor Village as official off-campus Bentley housing.

Most Bentley students spend the majority of their days talking on AOL Instant Messenger, surfing the web, or e-mailing friends. When something goes wrong with their laptops all they have to do is walk to Lindsay Hall and the computer is fixed for them. If they have any computer problems, they can pick up the phone and call the help desk where all their questions will be answered.

Vandalism Sunday morning, an alarm signal was received by Campus Police signaling that a card reader was tampered with on the fourth floor of Forest Hall. Upon arrival, an officer found that the card reader to a suite on the floor had been knocked out of place.
