Bouchard Wins 1000 Meters at Northeast-10 Championships

Freshman Meghan Bouchard accounted for Bentley College’s only gold medal Sunday afternoon at the Northeast-10 Conference Women’s Indoor Track Championships at Southern Connecticut State University.

Bouchard finished first in the 1,000 meters with a time of 3:06.

Flynn Scores 17 as Bentley Tops Assumption for 7th Straight Win, 62-58

Senior guard Keri Flynn scored 17 points, including 15 in the first half, as Bentley College wrapped up the second seed in the upcoming Northeast-10 Conference playoffs with a 62-58 win over Assumption College in women’s basketball at the Dana Center Tuesday night.

Record-Breaking Weekend For Bentley Swimmers in New Englands

It was a record-breaking weekend for the Bentley College swimmers in the New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Championships, which culminated with the Falcon women repeating as champion and the Bentley men finishing second in a 13-team field.

In a weekend that saw Bentley swimmers collect 11 gold medals and break school records in 16 events, the Falcon women amassed 895 points, 173 more than runner-up UMass-Dartmouth, and the men’s team collected 454 points, 143 fewer than first-place Brandeis.

Killam, Mateo Win Events at Northeast-10 Championships

Bentley College seniors Harold Mateo and Mike Killam each captured events Sunday during the Northeast-10 Conference Men’s Indoor Track Championships at Southern Connecticut State University.

Mateo earned his gold in the 55 meter dash, posting a time of 6.

Forbes Scores First Five of Overtime, Sparking Bentley to 6th Straight Win, 77-76

Sophomore guard Tim Forbes scored the first five points of overtime, propelling Bentley College to its sixth straight win, 77-76 over Assumption College in Northeast-10 Conference men’s basketball Tuesday night at the Dana Center.

Bentley, despite not scoring for the final three minutes of the extra period, clinched at least a tie for second place in the NE-10 (after being picked 12th in the preseason poll) and improved to 17-10 overall (15-7 conference).

The intimidating atmosphere for free speech on campus

The University of Colorado at Boulder decided to teach us all a lesson about free speech last week, but it may not be the lesson it intended.

Administrators there had originally told the College Republicans and the Equal Opportunity Alliance that they could not hold an “affirmative action bake sale” on campus.

Business Bowl Brings Out The Best of Bentley

Students came from all across campus to participate in the seventh annual Bentley Business Bowl held on Feb. 21. The event is a one-day business case competition open only to Bentley College students and sponsored by the Bentley College student chapter of the National Association of Black Accountants, the Office of the President and the Accountancy department.
