Home Teams Win as Bentley Doubles Against Iona

Bentley College improved to 12-13-0 (11-8-0 MAAC) by defeating Iona College Friday night at the Ryan Center in Watertown. The win marks the first time the Falcons overcame a three-goal deficit since moving to Division I in 1999. The Gaels fall to 7-19-2 (7-12-1 MAAC).

Williams Lifts Iona Past Bentley in OT, 3-2

Sophomore center Brent Williams, after netting the tying goal at 5:07 of the third period, scored the game-winner 1:10 into overtime to give Iona College a come-from-behind 3-2 win over Bentley College and a split of their weekend home-and-home series in MAAC Hockey League action Saturday night at New Roc Center.

Flynn, Vitale Amongst Seven Bentley’s Athletes Recognized by Northeast-10

Junior guard Keri Flynn and freshman Anthony Vitale were amongst seven Bentley College athletes recognized by the Northeast-10 Conference this week.

Vitale was named the NE-10 Men’s Indoor Track Freshman of the Week while the Northeast-10 Weekly Honor Rolls included Flynn and Sara Wright for women’s basketball, Andy Erickson for men’s basketball, and James Kastrenos, Jessica Germano, and Pia Flores for track.

Kastrenos Named Falcon of the Week

Senior Jim Kastrenos, a member of the Bentley College men’s indoor track team, has been named the Falcon of the Week after tying the school record in the mile Saturday during the FasTrack Invitational at Boston University.

Kastrenos posted a time of 4:12.

Some African Americans divided on Black History Month

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. The Rev. Promise Lee thinks it’s important to carve out time to acknowledge the contributions of black Americans, “to keep it in our consciousness, so we don’t forget.”

But for the past couple of years, the Colorado Springs pastor and community activist has declined all requests to speak at Black History Month events.
