Falcon of the Week

Sophomore swimmer Becky Osit has been named the Falcon of the Week at Bentley College after winning all five of her races in wins over Saint Rose and Wheaton College, victories that boosted the Falcons to 8-1 on the year, and extended the team’s dual winning streak to eight.

Six Bentley Athletes Receive Weekly Honors

Six Bentley College athletes, including senior miler James Kastrenos, are the latest recipients of weekly recognition from the Northeast-10 Conference and the ECAC. Kastrenos was named the Northeast-10 Men’s Indoor Track co-Athlete of the Week, while the NE-10 Weekly Honor Roll included senior Jeff Bishop for men’s basketball, junior Keri Flynn for women’s basketball, and junior Andrea Toland for women’s indoor track.

Bentley Women’s Basketball Climbs Two More Notches, Now #6 in Division II

Bishop Scores 18 as Bentley Cools Off New Haven

For the second time in just under a month, the Bentley College men’s basketball team brought a double-digit win streak to a halt by yielding only 48 points. Behind 18 points and seven rebounds from senior forward Jeff Bishop, the Falcons notched their eighth straight home win and ended the University of New Haven’s 11-game winning streak with a commanding 71-48 decision in non-conference action at the Dana Center Monday night.

Defense Prevails Again as Tampa Bay Defeats Oakland

SAN DEIGO- The nation was split this past Sunday as Super Bowl XXXVII put the Oakland Raiders and their top rated offense against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and their top rated defense. The line was close at all Las Vegas gambling spots, which favored the ACF champion Raiders by three and a half points.

A Generation Politically Removed

In numbers they are three quarters of the voting population, just as large as the senior citizen block. In voting power their impact is almost negligible. In fact, nationwide voter turnout for citizens between the ages of 18 to 24 has dropped from 50% in 1972 to 32% in 2000.
