Hyman Leads Bentley to NE-10 Championship

Tournament MVP Marissa Hyman, a freshman outside hitter, had 19 kills, including five in the decisive fifth game, and 26 digs as Bentley College captured its second straight Northeast-10 Conference women’s volleyball playoff championship with a hard-fought 3-2 win over UMass-Lowell Saturday night at Bryant College.

Breda Sparks Comeback in the Season Finale

Junior tailback Andy Breda rushed for a career-best 266 yards, including 208 in the second half, and four touchdowns, and also caught four passes for 40 yards, as 24th-ranked Bentley College overcame a 19-point halftime deficit to storm past Stonehill College, 41-26, in Northeast-10 Conference football Saturday afternoon.

Four Falcon Players Named to the All-American Team

Bentley College’s Kristyn Bates and Jenn Walker have been named to the womensfieldhockey.com Division II All-America first team.

It’s the second All-America recognition for each in as many days. On Monday, the National Field Hockey Coaches Association named Bates a first-team All-America and Walker a second-team All-America.

Junior tailback Andy Breda and freshman outside hitter Marissa Hyman share “Falcon of the Week” honors at Bentley College following outstanding performances over the weekend. Breda led the football team to their first 10-win season since 1995, and Hyman helped the volleyball team win its second straight Northeast-10 Playoff Championship.

Eddy, Along With Nine Others, Honored by NE-10

Bentley College sophomore quarterback Marc Eddy, who led the 22nd-ranked Falcons to a 10-1 season, has been named the Offensive Player of the Year in the Northeast-10 Conference, an award won by teammate Dallas Mall in 2001.

Bentley also had the recipient of the Northeast-10 Freshman of the Year award for the second straight year, with free safety Jeff Molesso capturing the award Eddy earned a year ago.

SGA Response to Editorial

As the community is aware, the Bentley College administration, along with the Student Government Association (SGA), has been investigating the possibility of prohibiting smoking in all residence halls. Last week, The Vanguard published an editorial in which they supported the possible change in policy, but raised the question of “why it is necessary to postpone the inevitable, and wait two years before smoking is removed from all residential buildings?” The answer is simple.
