Protective Custody
On Sunday, the CP dispatcher observed an individual urinating on a CP cruiser on Closed Circuit TV (CCTV). Officers reported to the cruiser and observed a wet spot near the tire consistent with urine. The individual said that he did not urinate on the car, just near it. The non-student was put into protective custody and trespassed off of the campus.
Medical Case
On Sunday, a lifeguard at the Dana Center called CP to report an injury. Upon arrival, officers identified a minor female child who had been injured while on a trampoline. The child’s mother was running at the track at the time of the injury. The girl, who sustained a compound fracture of her left arm, was taken by ambulance to Children’s Hospital.
Malicious Destruction
A student contacted CP on Friday to report that his vehicle’s hood ornament had been stolen. The hood ornament, from a Jaguar, was valued at approximately $300.
On Saturday, officers responded to the Deli where the manager informed them that the hot water spout in the first bathroom had been ripped from the wall.
Security Violation
On Tuesday, a staff member called to report that when she arrived in her office, her door was unlocked and propped open. The party was concerned that confidential documents were easily accessible.
Possession of Drugs
CP officers reported to Miller Hall after reports of an odor of marijuana. The officers knocked on the door of a second floor room and were met by a resident of the room and other students. The resident had glossy eyes and took responsibility for the drugs. The students were charged with drug and alcohol possession.
Theft
On Tuesday, a student contacted CP to report that his guitar was missing. The student, a resident of Miller Hall, had last seen the guitar in his room before he left for the Columbus Day weekend. The case is under investigation.
On Friday, a student contacted CP to report that property of his had been stolen. The student had left hockey equipment outside of the west entrance of Slade to dry, and when he returned to bring the property inside, it was gone.
A student’s parent contacted CP on Friday to report that a phone card she had sent to her daughter was missing.
On Sunday, a student reported to CP that CD’s had been stolen from his vehicle while it was parked in the upper part of the Miller Parking Deck. The student estimates that the collection of approximately 200 CD’s, last seen on October 10, is valued at nearly $3,500.
Suspicious Behavior
Officers reported Tuesday evening to a call from someone in the Dana Athletic Center who reported that a suspicious acting male was in the facilities. The party reported the male was approximately 5’7″, in his late thirties, with black hair and beard. The party spotted the male in the lobby of the Dana Center. The male then turned and walked away. The party followed the male, but lost sight of the individual.
On Saturday, an individual called and reported to CP that a male student was taking photographs at the President’s House. Upon arrival, officers determined that the party was a photographer taking pictures for an anniversary. The photographer was subsequently granted permission by the homeowner to be at the site.
On Saturday, a student reported having problems with a Shuttle driver after the driver did not stop a new local route stop. The student said that he waved the bus driver down, but the driver did not stop. The driver said that there were no students at the stop.
Alarm Trouble
On Wednesday, CP reported to a room in Collins Hall after receiving an alarm for “Heat Detector.” Officers discovered that the residents had removed the heat detector from the wall of their common area; the residents said that the detector was buzzing. The students were charged with tampering with fire equipment.
Motor Vehicle Theft
On Thursday, a student arrived at the CP station to seek assistance with locating a motorcycle that he had parked in Lot 1. The motorcycle, whose owner was a friend of the student, had not been towed, but could not be located in any campus parking lot. The case is still under investigation.
Personal Injury
On Saturday, while removing a fire extinguisher from a van, a security guard expelled one of the extinguisher’s contents on his arm, burning his skin. After time elapsed, there were no remaining indications of injury.
Harassment
On Saturday, a female RA in Forest called CP to report that she had received an annoying phone call that day. The RA also said that she had received a similar call two weeks ago, and wanted to get it on record.
