The Bentley College women’s soccer team handed Northeast-10 foe Saint Anselm a 1-0 loss Saturday afternoon at Melucci Field.
Bentley Sophomore Cara Magnarelli scored her team leading seventh goal of the season in the 66th minute of play that proved to be the game winner. Magnarelli sent an initial shot that rang off of the goal post, collected the rebound, and fired her second shot passed Saint Anselm goalie Kathryn Mullin who had two saves on the day.
Saint Anselm never mounted a serious threat and could only send five shots at the Falcon defense. Junior goalie Erin Fahey was not tested during the contest and collected five saves and her third shut out of the season.
The win improves the Falcons to 6-3-2 overall and 5-3-2 in the NE-10 action. Bentley will be back in action Saturday, October 12th, as they face Franklin Pierce at the Bentley College soccer complex.
