Falcons Fly Above St. Anselm

The Bentley College women’s soccer team handed Northeast-10 foe Saint Anselm a 1-0 loss Saturday afternoon at Melucci Field.

Bentley Sophomore Cara Magnarelli scored her team leading seventh goal of the season in the 66th minute of play that proved to be the game winner.

Swenson Leads to Championship

The men’s golf team demonstrated their strength as they battled through the strong winds and unfriendly conditions to finish victoriously at the ECAC Division II Championships.
The two-day tournament was played in Marcellus, N.Y., on the links at Sunset Ridge Golf Course.

Marissa Hyman Is Named AISC Tournament MVP

Freshman Marissa Hyman was named the tournament MVP after leading the Bentley College volleyball team to the championship at the American International Stinger Classic with a pair of 3-1 wins over Dowling College and C.W. Post on Saturday.

Hyman had 16 kills, a career-best 22 digs, and three blocks as Bentley bested Dowling, 30-26, 30-27, 27-30 and 30-16.

Senior volleyball player Lauren Washington and senior golfer Erik Swenson share this week’s Falcon of the Week Award after leading their respective teams to tournament victories. Volleyball had a 4-0 week and won the AIC Stinger Classic, and golf captured the ECAC Division II Championship.

Eddy, Breda Help The Falcons Stay Undefeated

Sophomore quarterback Marc Eddy threw for 274 yards and three touchdowns, and junior tailback Andy Breda scored twice with 160 all-purpose running yards, as undefeated Bentley College extended its regular season winning streak to nine with a 34-9 win over UMass-Lowell in Northeast-10 Conference football at Cushing Field Saturday afternoon.

National Champs Continue to Impress After Wins

The Bentley field hockey team continued their defense of the national championship with impressive victories last week against two nationally ranked opponents. The team beat sixth ranked East Stroudsberg University on Saturday and then came home to defeat eighth ranked Stonehill on Tuesday night.

Falcon Missing

The Bentley falcon was stolen this weekend from its base located behind the Library and at the top of the stairs leading from the Rauch Quad. The theft is believed to have taken place before Sunday’s Fall Open House. Any individual with information about this theft should call the Office of Student Life at 891-2161 or Campus Police at 891-2201.
