Volleyball Finishes Second at Fall Classic

Junior setter Alyssa Carter and senior outside hitter Lauren Washington were Bentley College’s representatives on the All-Tournament Team after helping the Falcon volleyball team tie for second, in a seven-team field, in the Bentley Fall Classic, which concluded Saturday at the Dana Center.

Running Game Propels Undefeated Falcons to Win

Junior Andy Breda and senior Paul Reed combined for 203 yards and four second-half touchdowns, and junior defensive tackle Ted Krautmann led an outstanding defensive effort with four sacks, as Bentley College remained undefeated with a 26-8 win over American International College Saturday afternoon at John Miller Field.

Falcon of the Week

Junior Ted Krautmann led the Bentley football team to their fourth straight win to earn “Falcon of the Week” honors at Bentley College. Krautmann was also named to the Northeast-10 Weekly Honor Roll.

Krautmann notched four quarterback sacks, for losses of 30 yards, and two quarterback hurries against American International.

Eight Bentley athletes were selected to the Northeast – 10 weekly honor roll for their performances this past week. They include Paul Reed and Ted Krautmman for football, Matt Parsons for men’s soccer, Sarah Benson for women’s soccer, Liz Novis for field hockey, and Lauren Washington, Alyssa Carter, and Marissa Hyman for volleyball.

Editorial: Shuttle Lacks

If you are one of the unfortunate students who does not have a car on campus, the Bentley shuttle bus is likely to be your connection to Harvard Square and Boston. Well, that is if it shows up. Through the personal experiences of Vanguard members, as well as comments from other students, the shuttle has seemingly fallen back into a system of disarray.

King Leopold’s Author Holds Court

In one of a series of events associated with the class book of 2006, titled King Leopold’s Ghost, Bentley College presented the author, Adam Hochschild, as a panelist among other authors, and researchers to comment on globalization.

King Leopold’s Ghost is a historical account of King Leopold and the Belgian presence in the Congo.

In a continued effort to help raise Bentley “to the next level,” a new Seminar Series has been created to bring experts on campus to address business practices.

Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs Dr. Robert Galliers, who is starting his first year at Bentley, describes the Provost’s Seminar Series as an opportunity to “raise our profile and stimulate discussion,” and stimulate practical research.

Campus Police Log

Malicious Destruction
Last Monday, Campus Police received a report that derogatory graffiti was written on two walls in the Tree Dorms. Upon investigating, officers discovered racial slurs on the walls of the ground floor of Alder and Birch Hall. Physical Plant was notified to remove the graffiti.
