Falcon of the Week

Sophomore Kurt Flionis has been named as the Falcon of the Week at Bentley College after shooting a career-best four-under-par 67 at the Northeast-10 Championships at Drumlins Golf Course in Syracuse, N.Y.. Flionis was one of only two golfers to shoot under par in the tournament and his first round performance gave the Falcons a third place finish in the NE-10 Championship.

With all of the hype that surrounds the varsity sports at Bentley, it is easy to overlook the intramural athletics. However, the intramural program has become one of the most successful programs in the entire school.

Participation in intramural athletics has been dramatically increasing each year, and the trend is expected to continue.

Football Tops SCSU

September 26, 2002 Sports

Sophomore quarterback Marc Eddy threw three touchdown passes and a two-point conversion to classmate and former high school teammate Dallas Mall, and finished with a career-best 392 yards as Bentley College came from behind to best Southern Connecticut State University, 34-27, before 3,016 fans in Northeast-10 Conference action on Friday night.

Feeney, Six Others Named Athletes of the Week

Bentley College sophomore linebacker Tim Feeney has been named the Defensive Player of the Week in the Northeast-10 Conference, and six other Bentley athletes were also recognized by the NE-10 this week.

Selected for the NE-10 Weekly Honor Roll were sophomores Dallas Mall and Marc Eddy for football, senior Carolyn Bolster for field hockey, and volleyball players Alyssa Carter, Lauren Washington, and Marissa Hyman.

Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk: The sisters of Gamma Phi Beta will be participating in the American Cancer Society’s 2002 Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk, held in Boston on October 6th. At CAB’s first annual Wiffleball Tournament, junior Michael Jasinski hits the tournament winning homerun. Over 20 teams signed up for the event which took place on the Greenspace, complete with a 40 foot tall “Green Monster.”
