Men’s Basketball Wins Northeast-10 Conference Championship

The Bentley men’s basketball team capped off a memorable playoff run as they defeated the St. Anselm Hawks 78-72 to win their first ever Northeast-10 Conference Championship. Kevin Van Dam and tournament MVP Jeff Bishop both scored 22 points to give Bentley their fifth straight victory and their 20th of the season.

Mall Breaks NCAA Record

Freshman wide receiver Dallas Mall accomplished something that no one has ever done before, as he became the only player in NCAA history to score 20 touchdowns in a season as a freshman.

With his 20th touchdown reception, Mall broke the NCAA freshman record, which was previously held by Minnesota Vikings star receiver Randy Moss.

Women’s Field Hockey Captures Division II National Championship

The school record 22nd victory for the Bentley College field hockey team was it’s most important, as the Falcons captured their first ever Division II National Championship in front of a jubilant home crowd. Sophomores Liz McKenna and Lauren Galenski each had a goal and an assist in the 4-2 win over East Stroudsburg University.

First Year of the Rest of Your Life

Freshman year is the most difficult year of college, no doubt about it. What does one have to learn to do during their first year? Everything. In the first semester, a student has to learn to get along with a complete stranger (well, most of them anyway, some roommates come to college together), learn to balance work, school, and play, learn to get used to not having a strict seven to three schedule, learn how to deal with new people from around the world that have many different cultural beliefs, and get used to hardly ever seeing old friends and family.

Lose AIM and Get a Life

It began as an experiment; it turned into a way of life. Yes, that’s right folks. I actually uninstalled the computer program so many people have become addicted to: AOL Instant Messenger (a.k.a. AIM).

My original intentions were to uninstall AIM for one week to see if my life would change significantly and how it would be different.

Bentley Establishes Distance Learning Capabilities

This fall, Bentley will be offering a Bachelors of Science in Management at the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance.

The Institute has already outsourced their MBA program at DePaul University of Illinois, and their executive training program at the Darden School, in Virginia.
