3 School Record Performance

Senior Julie Doherty and freshman Sam Ekejuiba each improved on school records they set earlier in the season, and sophomore Alison Drake tied another record to top the list of highlights for the Bentley College outdoor track team Saturday at the Northeastern University Solomon Invitational.

Softball Wins Thriller

A two out RBI single by Marcie Matthews in the bottom of the sixth inning gave the Bentley softball team a thrilling come from behind victory Tuesday afternoon against Saint Anslem in the first game of a double header.

Coming off of a sweep of Saint Michaels over the weekend, the 4 – 3 win on Tuesday was the third straight victory for the Falcons.

Falcon of the Week

Senior Lauren Ferraro, the top scorer in the history of the Bentley College women’s lacrosse program, has been named the “Falcon of the Week” after leading the Falcon to three victories. She was also cited as the Northeast-10 Conference Women’s Lacrosse Player of the Week.

Bentley Eliminated From NE -10 Tennis Tournament in Semifinals

Top-seeded Assumption College, which has won its last 44 regular season conference matches, swept doubles and cruised to a 5-0 win over Bentley College in the semifinals of the Northeast-10 Conference Men’s Tennis Championships Saturday afternoon. Bentley, 11-7 overall, had reached the semis earlier Saturday with a 5-0 win over fifth-seeded Le Moyne College.

I’ve taken my midterm, handed in three papers, and with two weeks left and only a final to overcome, I have no idea how I am doing in this class! Every student has had a professor who does not hand back assignments and it makes the students’ jobs unnecessarily harder.

Posters Wasting Paper

As I was standing outside my class in Jennison, I noticed that there were something like 100 flyers on the wall for a Wyclef concert. While standing there, a woman came around and hung up posters for other events. I asked her if she or people from her group were going to remove the posters after the event, she said no.

Letter to the Editor: Recent Poll

I am writing in regards to the recent poll about Greeks in The Vanguard. As the president of Greek Council, I have been receiving numerous complaints about this issue and I am quite frustrated. What puzzles me is that another Bentley organization printed a poll that makes a certain population of the community feel bad about something that we take so much pride in.

What do you think of fraternities and sororities? In a recent poll published by The Vanguard, students around Bentley were asked this exact question. Although I do not know the exact procedures used in administering this poll (i.e. sample size, atmosphere, and control), I do understand that this is an absolutely ludicrous thing to ask and even publish.
